Information and registration

Join WITF for a special Composing Thoughts LIVE with Jennifer Higdon. Higdon was the very first guest on Composing Thoughts (airs Sunday nights at 6pm on WITF-FM 89.5) and is now the first composer to be featured at a live event!
Host John Clare will speak with Jennifer about her music, creative process and perform String Poetic with pianist and WITF Music Director Dick Strawser. They'll also discuss and preview Higdon's Percussion Concerto, which the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra and Chris Rose will be performing that weekend.
Attendees can meet Higdon, ask questions, get autographs and can win compact discs of Higdon's music, as well as a have a chance to win tickets to the HSO's Sunday, March 9th concert, and tickets to the Lancaster Symphony's Friday, March 28th concert!
Composing Thoughts LIVE takes place Saturday, March 8th from 3-5pm at WITF's Public Media Center (4801 Lindle Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.) Free and open to the public, register now at (717) 704-3000 or by email, composingthoughtslive @ witf.org

World Premieres in Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Orchestra is playing several new works by Jennifer Higdon:
January 10th is the World Premiere of Concerto 4-3, written for Time for Three
January 16th musicians will join for her Bentley Roses (from 2002) with Randall Scarlatta and Susan Narucki (also David Rakowski is on the program, his Sex Songs)
January 17th is the World Premiere of The Singing Rooms, written for violinist Jennifer Koh - and maybe the first Violin Concerto with orchestra and chorus!
January 23rd you can hear BOTH Concerto 4-3 and The Singing Rooms and also on January 25th in the afternoon!
